Thank You President Gordon B. Hinckley For...

Looking Forward with Faith
On Sunday, January 27, 2008 the beloved President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints passed away just before 7:00pm with his family gathered at his side. For the millions who knew him, he will be greatly missed. He was truly a man of God who sought to show love, kindness, and friendship to all. He was an optimist and a humanitarian. His influence has impacted the lives of literally millions of people for good. He cared about the well-being of others and was an example of what he taught. He taught all people to live in faith rather than fear. He was a prophet of God.

Being a Teacher, Leader, & Humble Servant.

Fairwell!

God be with you 'till we meet again.

Love,Mark, Alecia and kiddos

Thank you so much for keeping us updated on everyone and their lives. It helps us to feel apart of things even though we are a long ways away. Congratulations on all of the new additions to the family. I got a chance to meet Cayden and Brett. What a sweet family the three of you make! I didn't think I would still feel that way when I held a baby after having three...but he was just so darn lovable. I am looking forward to meeting Boston and Tristan and seeing Bailey again. Taylor was such a sweetie. Darian was a little rambunctious(SP?) while we were there and Taylor went and played with him. Darian was in heaven and had such a good time. I was so impressed with how good Taylor was with him.

I couldn't believe how grown-up Megan was! I wish that I would have had the head start on life like she has. Go get 'em Meg!

Alea fell in love with Mike and wanted him to go with her everywhere. That was sooooo sweet!!!Thank you guys for coming out on a Monday night. That meant a lot to me and my kiddos. I hope our next trip to Utah is together and that it can be planned so that we can see all of you! We miss you guys and miss having you close with our kids and us.Darla, Paul and I stayed up until the weeeeeeeee hours talking, got a couple of hours of sleep and headed off to the airport.I am so impressed with their organization and lack of clutter that I am inspired to work on those things myself.

We love you guys and anyone who would like to make a trip to Austin....well Pflugerville but Austin sounds a little better:). We would LOVE to see you and have you as a guest!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas break with fun time as a family...and that's my favorite part. I'll send more later cause Darian is trying to cook something while I write and he is only three...YIKES!

Love,Mark, Alecia and kiddos.

Christmas with the Rogers

Ten of the eleven Rogers children showed up for the Christmas Party this year at Paul & Darla's house (We missed the Texas crew). It was so good to see everybody again! At the party we ate warm pancakes with a hot apple topping and a scoop of whipped cream on top. We also had our traditional white elephant gift exchange. The hot items this year included a beautiful piece of pottery made by Megan’s old “guy friend” and a picture frame that Jen & Matt brought. Catherine was happy to walk away with an electric can opener and Paul was elated as he got a charcoal grill that he will probably only use in the case of an emergency. Of course there were those dreaded “who brought this junk” gifts as well. One item included a bag of random stuff including a half-used bottle of lotion. Another included a beauty bag of lotions and soaps that had probably already been re-gifted a few times. The last, but not least, “junk gift” included a talking doll named “Miss Perfect.” Thank you Matt for bringing that UGLY doll!

Besides the good and not as good white elephant gifts the great grandchildren enjoyed their gifts from Grandma & Grandpa Dillard. Thank you so much for your kindness. It was fun to see the kids eyes light up when they opened their gifts.

Here are a few pictures from the Party. Sorry that we don’t have one of everybody.

Nathan & Ashlea just won a 65” Flatscreen television at Ashlea’s recent work party. Nathan says that it’s not quite as big as the wall but its pretty close (small dramatization). They are both currently working full-time at their day jobs and part-time at night on remodeling their Bountiful, UT condo.

Brian continues to work in Woods Cross making cabinets and Brett just started her new job this week with Intermountain Healthcare at the new Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT. This new facility is the largest hospital in the Western United States and is equipped with state of the art technology. Brett will be working as a Central Processing Tech. What does that mean? Well, she will be responsible for organizing, sterilizing, and allocating all of the tools used for surgeries. This means that if a doctor needs to do a knee surgery she will make sure that they get the proper toolkit to do the job. When the surgery is done she will make sure that all of the tools are accounted for when they come back. Then she will have the tools cleaned, sterilized, and put back into the kit so they are ready for the next surgery.

Brian & Brett are also looking to lease-to-own a house in West Valley, UT. They would rent the upstairs while Brett’s Mom rented the downstairs. This would not only save gas and time for Brett to travel to her Mom’s house but would also provide Brett & Brian with a bigger place for less rent.

In related news, Caydon now has two teeth.

Cindy & Taylor have been cruising around in their new Toyota Corolla Sport.

David & Lily stay very busy with work. They just bought new living room furniture for their front room. Tristen just turned 3 years old and is the most hansom little guy you’ll ever meet.

Both Caydon & Boston are enjoying their new diet which includes a variety of baby food. Fruits and vegetables in a saucy form never tasted so good. Even though Caydon is almost a month and a half younger than Boston, he is passing him up in size very quickly.
Megan has picked up a second job working for Dippin’ Dots at the Delta Center during Jazz games. Jeremy, Camille, & Boston caught her working there last week during the Jazz vs. Sixers game. Megan said that it was only for one night but we’ll see about that. She also works weekends at Winder Dairy in the country store and keeps very busy attending Salt Lake Community College.

Other Family News:

Catherine is looking into becoming a Wine Rep. She would continue to go to Weber State University pursuing her art degree but would just have to cut back on classes a little.

Paul & Darla went to bed at 9:30pm on New Years Eve.

Matt continues to work 2 jobs. One at Zion’s Securities Parking and the other at the Kearns Ice Rink. Rumor has it that Jen is looking into getting a job at a Dentist Office.
