John Rogers, PTA - SLCC Graduate

Taking into consideration all of the pages read, tests taken, trips made to and from school, and countless hours of becoming a professional, The Rogers Royal Gazette is proud to announce that John Rogers has graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Salt Lake Community College after a very intense 16 months.

For the past several years John has enjoyed his occupation in the world of Cycling. He is currently working at Wasatch Touring, an outdoors shop located in downtown Salt Lake City that specializes in equipment for atheletes and outdoors lovers of all kinds. John has been a top consultant on cycling there for several years and has developed friendships and rapport with clients and colleagues that won't be forgotten. He has been fortunate enough to be able to work in a field that he has a great passion for. His natural ability to create friendships while helping others has given him the respect of many that will undoubtedly tranlate into his new occupation. For John, biking is not just something he talks about at work. He is an avid rider himself and has been for many years. He goes on or off road with his two-wheeled toys and loves every minute of it.

There's no doubt that it has been a challenge for him to stay disciplined at school and stick to the books rather than trek down the mountain trails that he's used to. Much like John's biking adventures he has blazed a trail of his own by becoming the first Physical Therapist Assistant in the family. While participating in the program John acted as Class President and provided encouragement, leadership, and friendship to his classmates that reciprocated a feeling of comroderee and appreciation towards him. As Class President John was able to conduct a large portion of the graduation ceremonies held at Salt Lake Community College on December 12, 2007.

Beginning in January John will begin working with University Healthcare at The University of Utah Orthopedic Center. He is excited to begin working in his new field as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Congratulations to John in his great accomplishment. A big thank you to his wife Tammy who has supported him and encouraged him through his long nights of studying and long days of school. Congratulations to the both of you and good luck to you Tammy as you continue your Trek through school to become a Registered Nurse.
