Behold.... Christ the Lord

Throughout the year we go about our lives doing whatever it is that we do on a daily basis. For some it's school, others it's work, for others it's both, and for others it's full-time care for children and family. It's interesting to observe that during the Christmas season our demeanors seem to change just a little and we tend to be more kind to friends and foes. We give of ourselves to family, friends and strangers in an effort to show them that we care about them. We put forth a hand of forgiveness when we would normally turn our cheek with offense. We give out our spare change to the homeless when we would normally walk past them in disgust. We buy gifts for children who would normally not have any and we smile at strangers when we would normally avoid eye contact. For believers in Christ and non-believers alike, it is difficult not to acknowledge the tremendous impact that this global celebration has on our communities. For those who believe in the miraculous life and birth of Jesus Christ and those who don't, I would encourage you to ponder and appreciate the goodness that comes about in all of us this time of year. What a wonderful time to reflect upon the blessings we have. May the Lord bless you as you "do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
