Happy Birthday Cat!

I've been at Fiddler's Elbow in Sugarhouse for 3 yrs- I am in the top 5% for having the highest, most consistant sales for specials/ desserts. I've been expiditing on fridays which means I organize the food coming out of the kitchen and make sure it gets to the right restaurant (since we have one kitchen that makes 2 restaurants food). This can be challenging because I am hardly tall enough to distinguish a med rare prime rib from a meatloaf or a flank steak...I'm on my tippy toes most of the night.

School has been pretty rough this semester and it is going to be tooth and nail to the finish. I have had to scrap my current project because it felt too negative for me-I'm not even going to be able to use the beautiful canvases Brian built for me-yet (sorry Bri). But it is imperitve to be able to walk away from something if its not working-thats half the battle. I will however go back to doing drawings in public-probably on paper. Hopefully it will be worth it in the end.I get through it by swimming laps when I can-its where I do alot of my creative thinking also.

I also love to hike, camp and travel and look forward to summer! After the summer is over and I regain my sanity I am thinking about looking into being a wine rep. It would be something I could do to stay close to the restaurant biz without being a server/manager or owner(all not fun jobs). I would get to go to Napa to learn about wine and I would even teach classes to servers and managers about it. Maybe I will move to wine country and take life slow..sounds good to a day dreamer like me!

Darian Wants to be Just Like His Daddy!

Alecia sent me an email with a cute story about Darian, so asked her if I could share it! Enjoy!

--This weekend Mark was doing an estimating project for my brother and so he was out in the landscaping arena for a couple of hours. He took Darian with him and then out to lunch. It was so cute cause Darian wears a certain sweatshirt everyday when Mom is really up on laundry;) cause it looks like Dad's sweatshirt. Darian wore his backpack to go and just felt like a little Daddy I think. If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up he says a Dad. Anyways, needless to say he was feeling quite satisfied to have that time with Mark this weekend. They both seemed really happy:)

***Alecia is due on March 4th! Little Samuel should be joining their family very soon! Good luck you guys! Hope everything goes well!***

Brian, Brett, and Caydon's News!

(Brett Speaking) My new updates are on Feb.13 my mom took Caydon for the night, and we celebrated Valentines Day So Brian took me to dinner and then we were rushing to get downtown for something that we needed to be there by 8:15 so we show up at a horse and carriage and we went down memory grove, he asked how much I loved him, and pulled out a ring and asked if I would marry him!!! After over two years together and a baby we are officially engaged.

I have colored my hair really dark and permed it, and as soon as I permed it I really regretted it.

Brian says he is the same old boring Brian, and says he doesn't have any updates. He recently went to Arizona to work on a Condo so that by the end of the year they will be back down there building a house. He helped Cat out by making 4 canvas boards which she says was a great help to her.

Caydon is still an angry child seeming to get worse. We are literally at a dead end with what to do about it. We have started time out and he doesn't seem to care. He says a whole variety of words. He loves his bath time which he tells you he is ready for at night, He is very curious always asking where'd it go? He also is learning his ABC's. He is a dancing fool, any music that comes on he is boogying.

Darla and Paul's Updates!

Three new things -- let's see now. Paul and I have been doing geneology. You know:

Geneology, I am doing it, my gen - e - o - logy, and the reasons why I am doing it are very clear to me.People living now and the ones who've died,Are on my family tree. (I guess it's not as clear as I thought -- I can't remember the rest of the words to the song!) Oh, wait a minute............... I am yours and you are mine now, Through all eternity!!!

The other 2 things are geneology and geneology!!! Yes, we're loving it. It's so exciting -- like playing a giant game of Clue. When we get to the point of having temple work done, we'll share the blessings.
Meg recently took me and Jennifer to a Tap Dance Concert downtown. One of her instructors was in it (she's very good). I never knew you could do so much with tap!

Being there brought back memories of MY tap dancing career, short-lived as it was. I think I've told some of you, or maybe all of you, this story before. Anyway, I was 4 or 5 when I took lessons. We just wore our swimsuits to class so we could move more freely. Well, while I was moving "freely", my strap broke and the top of my suit fell down to my waist. I was so embarassed! I ran to my mom, crying. Like I said, it was a short career. I never went back. After attending this concert, I can see that I really missed out!

"Our American Lives" By Catherine

I am doing a series entitled "Our American Lives". The pieces are all the same size 5' x 2'7" (the same dimensions as the American flag). They are on birch wood with poplar frames. I consider them to be signs more than paintings.

Exciting News From the JCB House

Jeremy interviewed for a new job on Friday at 4:00pm, and by 6:30pm he had a phone call congratulating him on being the chosen candidate!

He will be working for the same company, and still in the Human Resources department. But instead of being a recruiter he will now be a consultant. This position is where Jeremy saw himself going in about 5 years, but the opportunity came a lot quicker then he had imagined! He is excited to take on this new role.
-
Other then the new job, Jeremy has also been enjoying being a scout leader to the 11 year old boys! He has a great group of boys, whom he enjoys leading. He is also the most amazing father to Boston.
Boston continues to amaze us everyday. He can count to 10, and is quickly learning to sing his ABC's. He knows most of his shapes, and is learning his colors too! It seems he learns a new word everyday, and speaks in "almost" sentences such as "My Daddy Funny." He brings so much love and joy into our house!

As for me... I recently cut 7 inches off my hair, and I love it! I forget how nice it is to have short hair! I am 2/3 the way done with pregnancy, and I am continuing to walk 3 1/2 miles 3 times a week! I feel great! I have also fallen in love with Baking all over again... that's right. Brownies, Cookies, and more Cookies!

Well that is the update from us... but what about all of you! Please send us an update soon!!
