Happy Birthday Grandpa! (August 20th)

Grandpa is one half of two sets of twins born to his parents (both boy / girl twins). He and his sister, Sally, are the youngest of 11 children. Having grown up during the Great Depression, he learned to "make his own way" at an early age. As a newspaper boy, his route included a small cafe. He sold papers to customers on his way in, and picked up tips on vacated tables on his way out!!! Can you picture him doing that? I can't, because now he's as honest as the day is long!

A good day for Grandpa includes working with his hands. Here he is doing the wiring for Jeff and Gina's new bedroom. He was so excited to be able to do this, especially since it meant that grandma would be coming home soon! He's also an inventor -- you describe it and he can build it.
-
Some of his favorite foods are Mexican food, biscuits and gravy (he makes the best), and black walnut ice cream.
-
Something you might not know about him is that in 1969 he worked at Goldstone Tracking Station in the Mojave Dessert. It was his job to keep the machinery working. The year is significant because Goldstone helped "track" THE SPACESHIP CARRYING THE FIRST MEN WHO LANDED ON THE MOON!
-
He's also the best husband, and the best dad two girls could ever have and we're so glad our prayers were answered and that he's on his way to being well again.
