Trip to Missouri- Jenn's Pictures!

Baby Sam

Picture of Aunt Sharon's house which is about 40 ft from the lake.

When you pull up to her house there is the sign "Hickory Leaf Lodge, Bed and Breakfast" which confused me to death!!! I almost turned around and came right back to Utah! I didn't have any trouble getting to Missouri until I had to get off the freeway and take all of the windy roads to find her house. Alicia was really confused by the sign also so it wasn't just me. Aunt Sharon said that she put it out to annoy her neighbors and to make them think that she really had started a Bed and Breakfast. She was so generous to be able to let mom and I stay there and I'm sure she was happy to get her house back when we left.

There is a pic of Darian's first fish which was about 5 inches long. The best part was is that he didn't even have any bait, he ended up getting the hook caught in the side of the fish. He was so excited and started jumping up and down but got really upset when Braedon ended up kicking it back into the lake. I told him that we only get to keep the ones that are big enough for us to cook and eat and that one was just to small for that. The rest of the visit he kept trying to get a bigger fish so that we could eat it for dinner! -I love that kid:)

This is a picture of me, Aunt Irma Joe and Mom. Irma Joe is in a blue jacket and I don't think that a lot of us have met her before. She is so funny and I could have sat there and talked to her all day, I'm so glad that I got to meet her. Her and Uncle Bob are the ones that own the resort and who's house Mark, Alicia and the kids stayed in. I was fortunate enough to stay there for a couple of nights, she has a beautiful home that is right off of the lake. It really was amazing to be surrounded by so much beauty!

I have a pic of Aunt June that I wish I could share with the family but I promised her that I wouldn't which is really unfortunate. She was so much fun and a real spit-fire for sure. She was generous enough to let Jordan and I to take out her paddle boat for a bit. It was so funny because everyone out there live on the lake. No lie! And we have so much family out there that I didn't know about. It was just nice to get away and go to a totally different world where everyone leaves their homes unlocked and if for some reason you did go out of town Bob Hitchcock had a key to your house just incase anyone needed to get into it. I would love to live there and hope to go back soon!

These are some construction pics where Grandpa is working in the garage doing electrical work. I think the picture was taken just a day or so after he had gotten out of the hospital. He is such an amazing man and was so excited to be able to have Grandma come home for good. There are also a couple of pics of Grandma's room when it was under construction. Jeff did so much work I was amazed at his speed and endurance to beagle to get so much done in such a short amount of time. In the week that I was there he and Grandpa built a room in the garage for Jeff and Gina to stay in while they live with them to help them out. Tore out the carpet in Grandma's room and put laminate flooring in and one of them were always up at the hospital making sure that everything was being done correctly for Grandma and Grandpa. I really don't know how they did all of that and continually are doing everything. They are such an amazing couple and it was so nice to finally be able to meet them. I know it's sad, we only have a couple of cousins and we don't really know much about them and some of us haven't met them.
