Lots and Lots of Frosting!

Jenn, Ashlea, Lily, and Camille all enjoyed their first cake decorating class taught by Darla. This introductory class was all about the frosting. No cakes included. They practiced and practiced different techniques of icing a cake.
They all concentrated hard despite the loud noises coming from the plumbing guy. Lily seemed to have a natural hand at this frosting cakes stuff, while Ashlea was already pretty experienced. Jenn and Camille... I think they were surprised at how much work frosting a cake is! In the end, I think they all enjoyed spending time together and eating lots of frosting. THANKS DARLA!
Remember girls; Practice, Practice, Practice.
Also a big thanks to Megan who had to do a nice Ab workout while taking the first picture while hanging out of the window!

The Best Mother's Day Ever

On Mother's Day the whole gang of us Rogers kids (minus a few) gathered together to wish Mom well on her special day. Thankfully pictures are worth a thousand words so I'll only tell the short story. John had an idea to get Mom a bike for Mother's Day. He called around and got the rest of us on board while also making sure that Mom was really going to want a bike. We picked up the bike and sent it to John for a quick fix, polish, and shine. From there, John picked up a lock and the flashy helmet seen below and from there Mom was ready to goooooooooo!

Once almost everyone was gathered in the livingroom at Mom's & Dad's house we distracted Mom out of the front room while we snuck in the bike. When we brought her back in we shouted "Happy Mother's Day" and pointed to the bike. That's when the tears of joy began flowing down her cheeks. Amidst the tears she said, "I just have the best family" and "This is the best Mother's Day I've ever had." From the smile on her face in the picture above you can tell how happy she was.

Besides the neat pictures of Mom and her new bike she wanted us to post a picture of all of the cars that are parked at their house every holiday. How fun!

DARLA WOULD LIKE TO SAY "THANK YOU" AGAIN, TO ALL THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE "MOTHER'S DAY BICYCLE". IT'S BEEN SO MUCH FUN. SHE DECIDED TO PLAY IT SAFE BY RIDING AROUND THE BACK YARD FIRST -- JUST IN CASE SHE FELL. THEN SHE VENTURED OUT INTO THE STREET, JUST IN FRONT OF THE HOUSE. NEXT TIME SHE'LL GO AROUND THE BLOCK. THE ONLY PROBLEM SHE'S HAD SO FAR IS REMEMBERING THAT THE BREAKS ARE ON THE HANDLE BARS!!!

THANK YOU, TOO, FOR ALL THE SWEET CARDS, FLOWERS AND TREATS. MOST OF ALL, FOR COMING. I LOVE YOU ALL.

The Talented Rogers Family

We are so excited to showcase a drawing done by Megan. Who knew she had this hidden talent!
Who else is hidding their talents in the family? Can you guess who it is?

Caydon's Mohawk!

Jen shared these pictures as proof that Caydon now has hair! He even has enough to do a Mohawk!

A Note From Alecia

Hey there guys! I just visited the site. There are so many beautiful pictures of everyone. Sure makes us wish we were there!!!! Weather is absolutely beautiful here! Our Jasmine is blooming outside my window and smells so yummy. The kiddos must have been a little loud when i was talking with Gramma Darla cause I was saying that I hadn't been outside cause i found myself to always be cooking or cleaning. However, Cindy solved my problem when she was out. She put my kids to work and now I play more...WAHOO!! Mark has changed his career and is learning so much! You may have to ask him for a more detailed explanation. I know it is internet marketing, ad words, and joint business ventures. He is networking for different companies to help make them more successful. I am so excited for him. Braedon is excited to start swim team and is loving school. Darian is wild suprisingly excited about letters and numbers. Time just must have sneaked up on me. Alea wears my platforms with her purse pushing her stroller with baby. She is so sweet but tough...D and B make sure of it. They all jump on the trampoline tons and play with the neighbor kids.

Our garden is in serious need of some love...hopefully it won't have to wait long!

We miss you guys!

Love,
Us Texans

The May Birthday Boys

Congratulations Tammy!

The Rogers Family would like to send a huge shout out to Tammy today as she is graduating with her degree to be a Registered Nurse! We hope she enjoys her ceremony tonight, and that she will also enjoy her new found freedom of NO HOMEWORK!

We are so proud of you Tammy!

Megan's Haircut- In the Words of Jenn

Pictures BEFORE the haircut
So I took Meg to go get her first High-end hair cut on monday. She donated atleast 12 inches and was freaking out the whole time. She was so freaked out that when the hairdresser told her that she's going to have to get some cute head-bands Megan's response was "Why, Did you cut a chunk of my hair out? The hairdresser started laughing and thought Megan was joking. She then figured out that Megan was not joking. The hairdresser replied, "For your dance classes!" It was so funny. She loves her new mature haircut!!! Mom said " Great now she's going to be getting more calls for dates." Lets just say that Megan gets so many phone calls for dates that she has to tell them "let me go get my calendar". She has turned into a dating machine. I guess it's ok as long as she doesnt get married within the next five years.

Reserve the Date!

Boston will be turing 1 on June 10th! We would love to have everyone come celebrate with us on June 7th, probably in the evening hours! More details to come!

Easter After Easter

As usual, the Rogers family gathered together for an untraditional tradition. We had Easter after Easter! It was fun! We had a traditional Easter party with lots of fun games, lots of good food, and lots of nice sunshine. At first you might think..... wasn't Easter in March this year? Of course it was; but not for the Rogers family. You see, this family has it all figured out. By simply waiting a month we were able to get together when (almost) everyone was available and the weather was much nicer. Brilliant! Check out the fun in the pictures below.

Darla's Diary

John and Tammy spent spring break in San Diego and visited the Rogers' old neighborhood on Mazatlan Way, in Poway. John said the houses had "shrunk" since he was there as a kid! Ask to see their pictures.

David is also going to San Diego for three days in mid April. Has anyone heard Tristan say, "I luh you, gama?" It's so cute. Lily lets him call and leave messages on David's phone too.

Jennifer and Matt Just bought bicycles so they can start riding for exercise, Matt is also preparing for a triathlon in September, when he will cycle, swim, and I think Run! Good for you, Matt!

Megan just received recognition, again, for a dance she choreographed while in high school. Hunter High's Dance Company liked the dance so much that they performed it again this year at a dance festival. Her Plaque reads: "The Utah State Office of Education, in Conjunction with the Utah Dance Education Organization, awards Megan Rogers a citation for Superior Choreographic Work at the State High School Dance Festival, 2008." Superior rating is the highest a choreographer can receive. Way to go, Meg! She also recently performed in 8 dances at Salt Lake Community College's Dance Company Concert. She choreographed one of those dances as well and did a beautiful job!

Taylor recieved a perfect contract a few weeks ago!! Which means that Taylor had very good behavior, participated in class, and did everything he was supposed to do. Congratulations Taylor on a job well done!

April Birthdays

April Anniversary

We want to wish David and Lily a very Happy Anniversary as they celebrate it on April 29th! Can you believe it has been 8 years?

Caydon and Boston are Growing Fast!

Instead of smiling, they both decided to hold their right foot!

Caydon is just a little bit bigger then Boston, but way out does him on the teeth! Caydon has 8 teeth, while Boston only has 2! Caydon is getting really close to crawling, while Boston isn't sure about the whole idea. One things Boston knows is that he loves to rub Caydon's head, and Caydon loves to eat Boston's socks!

They are both so adorable, and growing so fast! They are excited to see everyone at the Easter Party!
